I have been a professional photographer for over 15 years and full time/self employed since 2012. My choice of camera is Canon, as I purchased a Canon 300D Digital SLR for my husband as a present, but he never really used it. In picking it up and learning how to use it, I began to truly enjoy capturing the world around me.
My favourite saying is ‘there are no bad photographs, they are just poorly executed. The only true, bad photograph is the one you didn’t take.’
I have completed a Diploma in Photography to learn technicalities, however go with my gut feeling most of the time.
In working with NEG photography, I like to make sure that the appointment is fun, that I capture what you need to ensure you can advertise your business, property or product from all angles. My experiences in Real Estate, the Building Industry and Creative Marketing has allowed me to have a wide understanding of what my customers may need and how I can properly deliver it.
Being a country girl, I’m not afraid of getting dirty. I have had livestock experience, ridden horses since I was 5 competitively, but mainly these days for pleasure. Four wheel driving adventures, snake handling training and more. Not afraid to mow a lawn and participate in concreting, mud mixing or any other manual labour or demolition.
My attitude to work and life is the same, treat others as you would like to be treated and honest opinions are upheld with more respect than a fake sales speech. What you see is what you get.
I am a sporty lady. I have played volleyball for over 30 years. Playing in State and International competitions in my schooling years; these days a social competition in the Illawarra during the week and in the Sydney Volleyball League from May to July every Sunday. I love my indoor rowing machine for endurance and have won medals competing in indoor regattas, I have a scuba divers certificate, a shooters licence, can change a spare tyre, do an oil change on a car and love eating.
My husband, Brian, sometimes works with me as he is our chief drone pilot. This is handy for our clients as we can get to work independently on the aspects of the shoot, if time constraints are against us. We do own another company called Elev8 aerial images, but have combined them into one website for our travels, just to make things simpler.
I grew up in the Northern Gateway to the Snowy Mountains, in the beautiful town of Tumut. Relocating to Kiama in 2000 and over the next few years we intend to be travelling around Australia. Capturing many Australian landscapes and businesses along the way. We may even pop into your town! My landscape photography has grown over the last few years to become more than just a passion, it has become an integral part of NEG photography.
Holding exhibitions in my area and framing images for local businesses that has seen me change the direction of NEG photography. I am now offering my images for sale with various printing options. I have even completed special projects for peoples homes of places that have meaning to them. The most recent was a 1.8 x 1.2m frame canvas of Little Lake, Barrack Point to be hung in an entrance foyer. This took four visits at various high tides over three months to gain the perfect image. Private or corporate events I enjoy capturing as well. From B & S Balls, Concerts or Birthdays to Conferences, Luncheons or Presentations. Working with the Illawarra Women in Business networking group in the Illawarra since 2014 and being their Event Partner has been an outstanding working relationship. These networking events have had speakers such as Dawn Fraser, Ian Thorpe, Mark Bouris, Turia Pitt, Olivia Newton John, Jana Pittman, Lisa Curry-Kenny just to name a few.
NEG photography has been Finalists and Winner of a few awards, but that is not why I do my job. Those accolades are the shiny things that get put in boxes, it is the day to day variety and passion for my job is the reason why I do what I do. I am extremely fortunate to work for myself and to work in a field that I had as a hobby and now I can make a living from. Very lucky indeed.
